There is a huge amount of interest in AMD’s Ryzen 9000X3D processors with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D being sold in many areas and the highly anticipated Ryzen 9 9900X3D and 9950X3D with 12 and 16 cores respectively could be the 5 in the CPU20. The availability of these elite gaming processors is becoming clearer, now with a leak from an ASUS representative in China (via Videocardz) who has stated that AMD will announce at least one new Zen 5 3D V-Cache Ryzen processor 9,000 at CES in January.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D And 9900X3D: What We Don’t Know Yet?
The Consumer Electronics Show as it’s otherwise known falls between January 7th and 11th, so assuming AMD will make the announcement at the event, it should happen either shortly before the main event at a keynote or during the event itself. This means we should know the prices, availability and specifications of the remaining two Ryzen 9000 3D V-Cache models by the end of the second week of January.
Since the models haven’t been announced yet, despite the launch of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D earlier this month, we don’t have any idea about the actual composition, pricing or specifications, but going with the Ryzen 7000 series, it’s very likely that we’ll see 12 and parts with 16 cores. Given how much more powerful the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has been outside of gaming this time around thanks to V-Cache 3D being placed under the cores or CCD rather than on top, allowing for higher frequencies, it’s also very likely that the Ryzen 9 9950X and the Ryzen 9 9900X will be some of the fastest CPUs not only in gaming, but in content creation as well.

The price has seen little to no movement on the rumor front, but due to a lack of stock and users snapping it up quickly, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has retailed for a much higher price than its $479 starting price and recently it has been almost entirely out of stock. This tends to happen when you’ve had a whole year of low-end CPU launches and then suddenly there’s a good one available for less than $500.
This situation is unlikely to improve before Christmas, but immediately after demand may drop slightly as more details of the higher core count parts are known, with some users potentially opting for the more powerful Ryzen 9 9900X3D, allowing for stocks to recover. However, since AMD essentially has no competition unless Intel improves its Core Ultra 200 processors with performance updates, especially in gaming, given that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D was completely dominant, it would be within its rights to charge more rather than the $699 Ryzen. 9 7950X3D is priced at launch, while the Ryzen 9 7900X3D costs $599.

We can expect high frequencies and the same core count – 12 and 16 for the 9900X3D and 9950X3D, assuming a similar lineup to the Ryzen 7000 series and also going by what we saw with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The main unknown is whether there are any other changes to the CPU itself, specifically the cache.
Early rumors hinted that 3D V-Cache was split across the two eight-core CCDs under the hood of the 12- and 16-core models instead of just applying to one, but the latest information points to the same build as Ryzen 7000 models, with the cache located only on a single CCD with eight cores that have direct access to it.
